So this website has a pretty simple idea: you tell me an album you want me to review, I’ll give you my thoughts! I’ve never tried to write album reviews before and I’m still developing a writing style so I don’t have a set format yet which I plan to follow for every review. However, I’ve come up with a few guidelines for myself.

These reviews aren’t going to give you in depth technical analysis of the music: Where possible, I will try and identify key characteristics of the songwriting style of an artist. However, I have little to no training in musical theory or composition so I won’t pretend to give educated answers on these topics.

These reviews are intended to encourage, not discourage, people to listen to the album: If an album is suggested to me as being worthy of a review, this means that this artist has at least 1 fan in the world. And as far as I’m concerned, it’s my job to bring more fans to that artist. Even if I end up not enjoying an album, I will make sure to highlight the redeeming features and try to identify the target audience who will appreciate the album. (This doesn’t apply to any Nazi propaganda bands etc like Skrewdriver or shit like that. I will tell you to fuck off.)

I reserve the right to be as inconsistent as I please: My music tastes change all the time (probably even more regularly after hearing all your suggestions!) and humans are contradictory by nature. So if I criticise one album for one detail and praise another band for the exact same detail, just chalk it up to the intangible power of music rather than me being a hypocrite 👍
